you can get a cheaper cpu cooler like a shadow rock slim, and cheaper ram aswell.

Cant I get rid of the cpu cooler? As I believe the cpu already comes with a decent cpu cooler.

2600 comes with Wraith Stealth which is pretty bad for OCing (65W, vs the DARK ROCK 4 which is 200W)

>highest end VRMs on market

>highest end 650W PSU fucking available

>200w cooler with cpu that'll never exceed 100w

>oh and theres like 1tb ssd and a better case

I dont understand what you mean by highest end vrms on the market. Which psu is available is the budget is a little tight. I would prefer to spend a little above £1000 and im ok with £1100.

Highest end VRMs is highest end voltage regulation shit on the motherboard, which means you can overclock your 2600 to hell and back if paired with a proper PSU (like the super expensive one I recommended which is probably going to last for 10+ years) and cooler.

The motherboard I chose, msi tomahawk is it good though? if not which motherboard around that price range should I go for?

It's good.

This is a more realistic build that will still OC pretty well:

dont spew random shit from your mouth please.

the stock wraith spire is good enough for basic overclocking, and the "200W" is just marketing bullshit.

OP: if you want a cheaper cooler, the cryorig M9a/M9 plus (should be 30$) is good.

As a general rule for a good looking build on a budget, look for performance first and if available with a good price pick the better looking one as a bonus.

Skip the RGB on the ram or get much cheaper one from another brand.

Get an EVGA G2/G3 550w PSU

Get more storage, 3TB 7200rpm can be found for a good price

The rest is fine, though I would wait to see AMD next release of gpus.

I do know it's good for basic overclocking, I'm just saying that for OCing above 1.4V it's not that good.

200W is indeed marketing bullshit, but it still doesn't mean it's worse (in fact, it's quite a lot better).

The Dark Rock 4 actually does seem to be really cheap, so I'd go for it

Plus a cpu cooler if I have enough money for that. Is it worth waiting for the amd release and when will they be releasing their new cpu?

Swap out the cooler for an Arctic Freezer 33 or Alpenfohn Ben Nevis Advanced if you want an AM4 ready cooler. The H7 will probably need a bracket if they haven't updated it.

Pretty solid board for the money.

The psu is a rebadged Seasonic Focus.
