3gb is a potato, the system will eat 1-2gb at start up.

now 1gb left for the browser to use.

That's normal.

When the memory are full, some of inactive memory will be moved to the harddisk as a cache.

Chrome

Well, chrome does use a lot of RAM. Try something like Firefox or look around for some very lightweight browsers.

And, sorry to say but, 3GB is seriously becoming not enough nowadays. Since it's an old system it wouldn't cost you much to get some extra RAM in there.

Please don't rise more question give solution for it

I have useing This system for over 10 YEARS  now you people are saying 3GB is not enough

Please solve it some how

No use bickering when the reality is 3gb memory is just very low for today's pc.

I used like 5 pc with 3gb of memory, it is slow, so i know.

The solution is opening max 2 programs at the same time, ie. Chrome and MS Office.

In chrome open no more than 3 tabs.

Now each tab can eat the memory up to 300mb.

Using a 32bit Windows is also help lowering the initial system memory to 512-1gb only.

Another solution is to use a lighter browser alternative like opera, vivaldi or firefox.

And using old version of programs, like Office 2013 or Adobe CS2.

Well, that changes everything. In that case, you most likely have some sort of virus.

Make a scan with Malwarebytes and Window Defender if you use Windows 10.

now you know what cause the high memory usage, open taskbar and check which program consume the most memory or network.

You might have the auto update running in the background, or some virus activated when online.
