Help, which gpu?

So I will be building my own rig soon, I aint sure which gpu to get. the msi gtx 1080 gaming x is £500 while the msi rtx 2070 armor is £490. This is the current rig someone helped me choose. I would get a 144hz monitor and only do gaming here. So I am looking for performance and aint sure which one to get.

Personally I'd go for the one with the newer technologies. There can still be driver updates for the RTX Cards. Not only that but they have RT-Cores and Tensor-cores whereas the 1080 does not.

I have the MSI 2070 Armor too! And it's running great. I'm playing Battlefield V on high with 2560*1440p constant 60FPS.

I woulnd't buy the 1080 anymore to be honest. Maybe some drivers will make Raytracing gaming a bit better in near future, who knows?

How about in 1080p? Would you get over 100 fps on battlefield?

The price to preformance on a used 1070 is so good right now. Especially for 1080p gaming

Combined with a decent CPU yes! I would suggest you to get a Ryzen 7 2700X. Would be a better deal in my opinion.

Honestly a 1080 is much cheaper and preforms very similarly, RTX is just a bunch of jazz in my opinion.
