Just how many cards can you crossfire together on a atx AM4 motherboard?

I watched an pretty old video of Mr Linus, he had SLI 4 titans in a build, I was wondering if it was comparable with amd's this gen of cards.

The build looked so epic.

Crossfire supports 4 GPUs, not all motherboards support 4 way crossfire though.

If you have 4 Radeon pro duos, you still only get 4 way crossfire with 2 of the cards, dual gpu cards are still like individual cards to crossfire. The other two pro duos with their 2 GPUs each won't be able to be crossfired.

Basically all you need is a board that advertises 4 way crossfire support, a big case so they can breath, ideally you want blower cooler style cards for that, and a psu that can power them all.

Ive been wanting to get quad RX 470 crossfire going just because the cards are cheap and not too power hungry, sounds fun.

You should dream bigger like 4 way Radeon VII Muahahaha just like Mr Linus's 4 way titan vid

Also to note with AMD, Vega cannot do 3+ card crossfire. Polaris cards can do 3 or 4 way crossfire.

Vega can do it with modified drivers but that's not 100% stable.

Also to note with crossfire/SLi, you get into the land of diminishing returns really quick with multiple GPUs. 2 cards can be worthwhile if your games support multi gpu setups well and you get the performance you want. 3 or 4 card SLi/crossfire is where you're paying for an entire card and getting 2-3fps back.

Its for flair more than anything, 4 way card setups look super cool, even if two cards would only cause you to lose a few frames per second.

Too bad, the vid I watched made Mr Linus's build look so epic.
