Laptop ssd upgrade

Prokart2000

Hey everyone!

Its been ages since ive been active on here, ive been really busy with life.

i was wondering, i have an old acer aspire 5332 and i have found some cheap ssds and i was wondering if it was worth investing in one and putting windows 10 on it to see if it would restore it to a decent system.

If i remember it has some form of celeron and 4gb of ram which isnt the worst.

Thanks!

If you have the budget for it, sure why not. If you don't use your PC too often then maybe it's not the greatest investment.

Just make sure to get a decent SSD, like an 860 EVO.

i managed to find a video and its a really simple fit!

It suddenly got slow and takes an age as its an old worn out 320gb drive but i reckon an ssd will help out.

Sorry to revive the thread but im going to install the ssd today and i was wondering if you can upgrade the cpu on these?

i know a lot of laptops are soldered but i wouldnt mind buying a cheap cpu upgrade if it would be worthwhile!

Thanks again

Seems like you can: https://www.acerrepairblog.us/aspire-5732z-5332/replacing-the-cpu.html

Of course, you can just remove the CPU fan and take a look. Make sure to put new thermal paste though.

Looks good!, it probably needs dusting out anyways.

Sorry to be a pain but do you know which cpus would be compatible?

Yep. The T9900 is a 2c/2t 3GHz chip while the T3000 is a 2c/2t 1.8GHz chip. Considering how cheap these chips are on eBay, it's worth the upgrade IMO.

might have to invest then!, not sure how easy it is but i will see how it goes! Does the difference in bus speed of the processors matter with compatibility?

Thanks a lot for the help.
