I recently upgraded my PC and after ~6 years it is also time for a new case.

Many of the new cases have so much space in the front and as I am not going to watercool all the space will stay empty and wasted.

That's why i am looking for a more compact design.

I like the Meshify C, but I have read that my PSU won't fit ):

limiting factors:

- PSU length: 190 mm

- GPU length: 310 mm

- 1-2 SSD 2.5"

- 1-2 HDD 3.5"

I would be very happy if you can recommend me some cases.

Budget 80-150€

On the product page the supported PSU length is only 160mm.

Maybe sell it, and get a smaller lower wattage PSU? THen you can get the case you want :)

I dont know the hardware you're running but i assume a 550w~ would be more then sufficient (and it fits in the meshify C haha)

Hmm.. 1000W is too much i know that, but I dont really want to sell it..

Currently i have a ryzen 5 2600 and a ASUS Strix Vega 64.

As you have the Meshify C, do you think it might somehow still fit? How much space is there for PSU + cables? From measuring with a ruler on my screen (lol), it might me about 220mm, which would result in 30 mm left for cables... with a little bending it could work?!

@J0X3R so as I have no HDD’s in my build I took out the cage which is located at the back of the PSU. You basically have the entire length of the case for PSU+cables. You have about 35-36cm space back to front

Oh and GPU can be up to 317mm I believe

Well I mean with a PSU that long it's going to be near impossible to find a compact enclosure that fits the PSU and still has room for hard drives.

That PSU length is rather limiting on case options.  I did a quick check and something like the Corsair 570X or 500D are the closest options.  Still considered Mid-Towers and will work based off your other criteria.  Corsair Air 540 is another option as well.  It's a twin chamber design, so it will be shorter in height, and wider to accommodate the PSU in the back.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey there, I think I'm also in the same boat.

I've had a micro ATX system for several years, but my needs have exceeded it's upgrade-ability.

I was thinking of going ATX this time around, but I'd still like the final build to take up as little space as possible.

With that in mind, I won't really be needing drive bays, since I'm also planning to go pure NVMe, and just using external drives on occasion.

I'll also be getting a new PSU for this build, and I noticed Corsair has started making fairly small, powerful options.

After a bit of searching, I found the Thermaltake Core G3, the Raijintek Thetis, and this video of a guy modding his case.

I'm not against vertically mounting a graphics card, but in the case of the G3, I wish they retained the horizontal expansion slots (you know, for other expansion cards).

Anyways, I was wondering if there are any better/smaller options.

Thanks.
