yes it would be faster than fixing your problems.

what you do is just removing all settings but maintained the same / latest build.

maybe in newer build and your factory settings are not compatible.

Do you have a fresh copy of windows?

If not, download that and burn it into a usb disk.

in the bios, boot the usb disk.

in the installation screen, if asked about format, delete any partition and click format.

proceed and your pc will be as good as new.

It was on windows 10 right?

It will work, but after installation, you will need to install most of your component (chipset, gpu, network etc)

if windows cannot automatically find the drivers go to your laptop site and download all the drivers.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

and download the tool to Create Windows 10 installation media.

The pc is trying to contact the internet, i suggest disable / skipping the process and just get straight into the desktop.

Click customize, and skip anything that requires and internet connection like windows login account (just get a local account).

Or better, disable internet entirely, if you don't know how to disable the wifi, just turn off your router.

It would continue creating local user account (you can connect to windows later).

After you get to the desktop, install all drivers.

After you finished and all working fine, backup your current state, don't install any program yet.

Now install all updates including the october update.

If all went through, proceed installing programs.

good luck
