Corsair TX650M vs CM Masterwatt 650 Which one is better ?

Planning to buy a new psu soon for mild gaming+ video rendering with phenom ii x4 955 & either Rx 570 or 1050ti (4gb). No liquid cooling. I have these two options basically I can afford right now. Don't have CM V650, VSM or Corsair RM. Other no budget. Just Masterwatt 650 & TX650M. TX650M is 80+ Gold & with 7 years warranty. Masterwatt is a bit cheap but 5 years warranty & Bronze. This is not Bronze vs Gold but the comparison between these two.

I am opting for 650W leaving some space for future upgrade. So asking community here for their advice.

TX is *better* but not better enough especially for that rig to be worth the extra cost

Even the Master Watt Gold version isn't as good as the TX: https://nl.hardware.info/reviews/8903/13/cooler-master-mwe-gold-voedingen-review-kan-een-80plus-gold-te-goedkoop-zijn-conclusie

Good article because it has comparisons for ripple, noise, etc. between CM and TX-M.

One can easily conclude that the Bronze is going to be even worse.

No contest.  The  TX-M is way better in every respect.

That is *true* but for that system it's better worth it to save the money, since the difference won't be noticeable for that rig anyway, until he buys a much fancier CPU/GPU

Why spend the money twice?  A good PSU will last 5+ years.

The MasterWatt isn't a bad PSU, just not as good a PSU as the TX-M

The OP's question was, "Corsair TX650M vs CM Masterwatt 650 Which one is better?" and it seems he knows better than to assume that efficiency level is a gauge of quality.

What are the prices of both units?

If Masterwatt costs half the price of TXm, it could be a better option. If difference is minimal, go with TXm.

What about lower wattage versions?

If you can afford it, go with the TX-M unit. It's a better unit overall.

Totally agreed. I posted this query cuz I am updating my PSU & GPU after 8 years, also buying RX 570 (8 pin - power hungry pet under load) & hopefully will move to Ryzen on this same PSU. Old CM GX 550 PSU lasted 8 years & started giving trouble signs, + noticed that TX650M comes with 7 yrs warranty instead 5 yrs of Masterwatt + price difference is not too big.

Thanks for the advice mate.

All right, thanx for the suggestions guys, decided for TX650M  & ordered same + Sapphire Rx 570 4GB.

Price difference was very minimal so opted for above.

Thnx again :)
