Remote Controller doesn't work properly

Hey guys,

 

I have a problem with my remote controller from my TV.

I didn't watch TV for years so it wasn't really in use for quite a time.

Now I gave it to someone and I noticed that I kinda have to press the buttons really hard to give the TV a signal from the device and hold it exactly in the TV's direction.

My first thought was the batteries are maybe drained so I switched them but I have the same result now.

Anyways after I had the remote controller in my cold car (because it's winter here) I noticed that it didn't work at all until it got room temperature again.

 

Can anyone tell me what the reason for this is?

Probably a lot of dirt and stuff underneath the buttons. See if you can just take apart the remote and clean it out. It will work like new. Same thing as membrane keyboards.
