Throwing old parts together for fun, but having a issue. My motherboard will beep 3 times if the CPU is inserted and cooled (which means  there's no ram), but once when I put in the ram I get zero beeps. I should be getting a single beep to give me the A OKAY, but nothing once ram is inserted. I used another set of ram and the same thing happens. Is my mobo trash?

Lol the 3 beeps is probably because it has no RAM installed, it wont post without. Most motherboards I've used (in fact, every single one besides server boards) have not beeped at all if its properly configured. You mention no post. Did you actually plug in a display and check for output or are you just going off the beeps rn?

Yeah I wanted to hear that it will at least beep. I hooked up the video card (also ram)and nothing. It should beep once, then jump to bios.

And the display cable is plugged into the GPU, NOT a display output on the motherboard right?

Correct.

Provided the GPU is fine, I would say its a motherboard or CPU issue. Since your CPU does not have an iGPU we can test to rule out the GPU, if you can find another GPU to test to see if it outputs display to rule that out, that would help. You've already tried other RAM which is good. You could try re-seating the CPU. Maybe try picking up a dirt cheap Athlon II or something for $5 off ebay to rule out a CPU issue before you spend any real money replacing parts.

These old ass am3 boards do my dude.

Like the other guy said could be a cpu or gpu error. Best bet is to buy a really cheap GPU or CPU and test them to rule our those issues.

CPU was dead. Pulled a old FX chip outta of another computer. Booted to bios. Thanks.
