New mobo problems

Go to solution Solved by Constantin,

Do a clean install.....

It can get very messy even if it was working!!!

Recently upgraded CPU, motherboard and ram. Computer turns on, but no connection to the internet, usb drives won't work but cd's do , and computer doesn't turn on/off properly. Usb mouse and keyboard work.

Checked bios and it says ethernet is disconnected. Tried updating bios using their utility but it doesn't update.

Tried updating all files on their cd and it gets stuck on Intel management engine software and a few others I forget which. On the Intel one though it says it's required but I can't install. Gets partway then stops. Tried downloading latest software for this but same thing.

Have to reset by pressing physical reset button. Doing it on the computer just turns the monitor off saying it can't find a signal

Didn't do a clean install. Could be my problem. Dunno.

Intel 8700

Gigabyte b360 gaming 3 wifi

Bios version F6

Please halp.

Do another clean install and then see how it goes.

Did a clean install and everything is working fine now. Well, Windows does say my product key is no longer valid and won't let me do things like change my background. It is on my old background so I guess it's fine, but it is still annoying I can't get full access to something I bought.

Windows product key is tied to your old motherboard. Contact Microsoft and explain you had to change/replace the motherboard.

After searching everywhere I got a real person from Microsoft in a chat and he fixed everything in a few minutes. All good now :)
