My friend just got 2 r9 280X's and the crossfire doesn't seem to work. the catalyst recotnizes both gpus and says that crossfire is working but there is not proformance increase between 1 r9 280x and 2 r9 280x's. on of them is from gigabyte and the other one is from msi. 

PSU: 1000W, 80bronze

CPU: fx- 8350

Ram: 2 sticks of 4gb

Mobo: ASUS M5A99FX PRo

Try older drivers...

 

Better thing for me to ask is what drivers is he useing?

Do you have the bridge connected and is the motherboard crossfire compatible? those are the only two things I can really think of off the top of my head

The mobo is crossfire compatible.

 

Yeah make sure the crossfire bridge is fully connected and update the drivers to the latest, non-beta.

Fuck you and your friend for being able to find 280x's :P I've been trying to get one and they are either sold out for inflated price.

CFX only works in fullscreen if I remember correctly.
