Apparently youtube CAN support 60fps video..

Sammael

with some hacks

To create video for youtube, it's a bit more cumbersome, seen here:

to test it out, you need to enable the html 5 version of the youtube player so you can get the speed option

Here was that guys sample after you change the settings:

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

it's like sitting in the backseat of a car, or sitting in a train with the back to the direction you're going.^^

Title misleading. (Believe me some only look at titles and go do it without reading the actual post).

I commend you for sharing the method and providing links, I believe MANY people will do this after knowing how to...

Gotta love How To Video's

But.

Youtube do not officially SUPPORT 60fps, its a workaround to enable 60fps via html5, which is fair enough...

But the title would suggest uploading a 60fps video and it working "out of the box" so to speak.

I don't mean to be negative on your post, but maybe clarify in your OP uploading 60fps native video's will not work.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

  • 2 months later...

The thing is it's not true 60fps

The video that gets uploaded has a source of 30fps but the footage has been interpreted from 60fps so its double length and the audio have a tempo change by -50 % so that when the footage is FAST FORWARDED it will simulate frame doubling/interpolation or smoother motion on YouTube's HTML5 player. People get so confused and believe that it is TRUE 60fps but it is not because you cannot fastforward footage to obtain a higher framerate.

A true 60fps HTML5 player was featured on GameSpot not long ago

This is the 30fps version

and the 60fps version this is TRUE 60fps in HTML5

with games it makes sense to have higher FPS (simply because it smoother), but I don't understand why people want it for videos

videos in 60 fps give me a headache.^^

that is do to the fact watching video doesn't create motion blur (basically your brain filling in what it can't actually process) making your eyes and (mostly) your brain scrambling to catchup
