Hello there. Just wanted to post my AIDA64 results and get feedback on the numbers to make sure everything is in good working order. Would appreciate any feedback. I ran it for 3 1/2 hours and here were the temp readings. Any feedback on the MOBO temps? Not sure how hot those are supposed to get.

@Mercuryaces
Motherboard is very toasty, it shouldn't get that hot, but if you ran it for 3 hours then maybe you don't have enough fans to get all that hot air out of the system? because even the minimum which is 52C is still very hot, but idk if the minimum is when everything was idle.

Oh you were stressing the GPU as well, i guess that's why it got toasty because the GPU is blowing hot air at the Chipset which is under it.

I guess it should be fine? i don't know

Idle looks to be at about 44, stressing without gpu checked it’s about 69

that seems really toasty to me, my Chipset at idle is around Room temperature.

what's your Case and how many fans do you have? also the configuration of the fans

Corsair 280x, two intake fans at front, two exhaust fans on top radiator as I have a Corsair AIO.

Also, can you confirm I know what parts of the motherboard these are?

6: VRMS/Chokes and northbridge? - These read about 50-55c with my IR temp reader. Northbridge read in 40s

southbridge read 40c as well I believe.

It's a bazooka :D

once you fire it, it will get hot :'D

alright, get more case fans.

keep positive air intake pressure

what case you using?

if not enough space for case fans. Get a new case and put in more fans.

and what's the ambient temperature of ur house or where ever this PC is being used?

oh okay, so you're getting plenty of air flow.

there are no Northbridge and Southbridge on modern motherboards.

I see there's two things labelled 6, the top one is VRM's and the Bottom one is the Chipset, which is the "Motherboard" temp sensor.

VRM's are doing fine, 50-55C is really damn good, but the Chipset is pretty damn hot if it's getting 70C-80C, because it's not really a power hungry component or anything.

I don't know, maybe the temp sensor is not functioning well on the Chipset? or maybe "Motherboard" means something else? I am not sure..

try putting some pressure on the Chipset heatsink, and see if the temps go down, not too much pressure ofc..

@Mercuryaces

try using HWinfo and see if things are labelled differently.

https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

After some troubleshooting, I realized my BIOS was not up to date. After updating it I ran another stress test. Originally the temps in HWIINFo were reading the same for "system" and for VR MOS. Since the VRM's and MOSFETs get pretty hot, it being in the 70c/80c range seemed normal.

After BIOS update, "system" read MUCH lower. Now it maxes out around 50c, while VR MOS still read in mid 70c's/

So: Does 50c sound reasonable for a motherboard temp? I'm still unsure what temp it is reasding, whether it is the chipset or something else entirely. At Idle it's about 39c.
