Dead Nexus 5X?

Hi, so I decided to dig up my 'dead' Nexus 5X after about 2 years since my brother killed it.

 

Just a bit of background; I gave my Nexus 5X to my brother after I got my iPhone 6S, and about 2 months of use by him, he managed to soft-brick my Nexus 5X. By that, I mean that it woulnd't boot into recovery mode.

 

Fast forward to 2018, and here I am with my Nexus 5X, which I assume is completely dead. I can't boot it into recovery mode and no matter what charger I use, it will not turn on.

 

Is my Nexus 5X dead forever?

"Seem to be", you know I am.  Even if I did just lose £210 due to my brother killing my Nexus 5X, he's lucky I'm not asking for that money back.

That is the second time you've linked a Sisar-related GIF to me and I'm now convinced you're/were a Sistar fan!

Ah, my dad's old Nexus 5X died in the same way. Basically the issue was that the RAM chips weren't soldered that well so to fix it, you need a Louis Rossman hot air station to reseat the RAM package...which I don't have.

 

It's a pretty common issue with the Nexus 5X (look up LG boot loop)
