Sennheiser HD8 DJ's as a headset?

haswellgamer

I'm not sure this is even possible because of the proprietary locking mechanism that Sennheiser has but I am looking to upgrade to the HD8 DJ's but am reluctant to because it wouldn't be compatible with the v-moda boompro mic I plan on buying. I already have a blue yeti with a pop filter in front of it but I also want to upgrade my microphone if I can. My other issue is, if I keep my current blue yeti mic, I will have no where to put my amp/dac I plan to buy, since I am rocking the obutto oZone gaming cockpit. I guess my question is, does Sennheiser have a compatible attachable microphone I can use? If not, what other solutions would there be to this? Really want to be able to purchase the HD8 DJ's.

I really dislike the quality of the "usb headsets" that are out there on the market. Plus I do more than just gaming. I watch a ton of movies and listen to a lot of music on youtube.

Do you want a flat sound.  No EQ or enhancements.  If so then your looking to get stereo studio monitor HP's.  In that case I recommend these Sony HP's for 80 bucks and it will sound the way the artist wanted it to sound.  No need to spend 250 bucks unless you want wireless HP's.  Here is the link

Sony Professional Studio Monitor HP's

You can thank me later, for saving you a ton of money and getting the best sound pretty much as these phones are used in studio's and artists a lot.  Grab them then enjoy them.  :)

Well I'm not really looking for a headphone recommendation. I have my heart set on the HD8 DJs. Just looking to see if there was a way for me to attach the v-moda boom pro to the headphones. I appreciate the info though, if I ever go into music production I will look into those!

Do you have a webcam ?  If it has a mic then your set, you don't need to attach a mic to the headset.  Good webcam can easily pick up your voice many feet away....  :)

I do have a webcam but I don't think that is a good solution..I need to be able to mute myself and adjust the mic's volume which is why I would like to get the boom pro mic.
