I wanted to ask approximately how many year this rig will be good for gaming?

Lemme check real quick

For real though this is a really expensive rig, don't expect to have to replace it for a good while.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yeah its a little bit more than normally would i say.

I am asking because of CPU generations is coming way to fast on the market.
I have build this PC 4-5 years ago and im stuck with intel 4th gen and motherboard doesn't support any higher higher.
But i wanted to know approx how many years i will be gamin flawless with this kind of setup... ?

6 months... lol so hard to say. i would guestimate 2 years ish?

but then again are we talking 'flawless 4k with massive framerates'?

It dont have to be 4k. but i guess it will be "standard" in the future and something new will come up.
But 244 hz monitor ofc.
But 2 years isnt that a little bit too "low"... well gues i can sell it and build a new one.  ?

It depends on what you consider to be acceptable for gaming. I mean lets be real, half the time with computers if you buy the newest generation of something there is something newer and better out next month anyways. But id guess you could have a very enjoyable gaming experience for the next 4-5 years pretty easily, although towards the end of that time frame you wont be playing every game on the highest settings with all the bells and whistles but I bet its still preforming well

I would suggest going with a 2080. This card will manage every game out there right now and be good for 2-3 years. If you don't feel like it fits your needs anymore sell it and buy a the next Gen gpu, maybe second or third highest tier (speaking nvidia 4080 or 4070 if they keep the name scheme).

They will probably be a lot better (compare 980 vs 2080 and you see roughly double of the performance) and changing a gpu coast literally 5 minutes if you have never done it before and have two left hands.

Someone who knows what he is doing will only need a minute.

The plan is here to go SLI when needed in couple years. I was thinking aswell to wait for next gen GPU from Nvidia. The eraly 2080ti´s card have issues. Now if i was gonna buy it, you never know if you got off those cards from the retailer. so maybe later this year when 3080/4080´s might be.
But will next gen double the power of 2080? What will thecost be? Double? =(

Rumors/roadmaps

Intel next gen for highend pc´s "Comet Lake" in 2019 Q2-3
Nvidia is planing on 1550/ti and 1660/ti this 2019 Q1-2
AMD gpu´s next gen 2019 Q3-4 is Navi 10.

SLI is a waste of money in most cases. You don't get double performance, most of the time way below 50 % increase. Game dev. support is poor and there are other issues (in the past it was micro stutters if they are still a thing).

If Nvidia is keeping its launch cycle we wont see a new GPU gen until late 2020, hopefully they get some pressure from AMD to push them a bit but probably not. So I am talking getting a 2080 that will fulfill your needs for the next 2 years, probably more and than just buy new. It will probably be cheaper and better than going SLI in a couple of years.

And the 980 launch price was 550 $ the 2080 699 $, so not double, more like 25 % increase. No way of me knowing if you can see a trend here, but i doubt and hope they wont double the price.

I would say if a 2080 ti fits your budget then go with that. Of course a 2080 is cheaper but if you want the max longevity then you go with the most powerful gpu available.

Just get one with a good warranty. So for example some Gigabyte offerings have a 4 year warranty when you register it online. You also have Zotac who do 5 years, but you would need to check your specific Countries warranty as it might differ.

Thats why im planing for gigabyte to have warranty longer than 2 years standard. 2080 ti xtreme fits my budget as well. but i dont know if i sould wait until sommer for Comet Lake wich should be high end CPU´s. with 10 cores but dont know wich socket it will be.

Don't wait until summer. My guess is we are talking August or September so 7 or 8 month down the line. I would not recommend to wait for hardware unless it is literally only a month or so. There will always be the next big thing half a year from now in technology.

If you have decided what to get you might want to post your pcpp list here to get some feedback. There are people here who know random shit and they might save you from a bad vrm design or case / cooler dimensions not fitting.

Only you can decide how long you are prepared to wait. Also little point getting a 10 core cpu if just gaming. An 8 core is fine. If you want to wait it out then keep an eye on Ryzen 3rd gen which should hopefully be out around June along with X570 boards.

Well i wanted to go something simple like

Be Quiet: Dark base 700

GB Z390 ultra aorus

BG 2080 ti xtreme aorus

I7-9700k

16bg RAM 3200 Mhz

CPU cooling with some AIO liquid cooler (240/280) Dont know witch one yet. Was gonna jump on be quiet silent loop 240,

m2 disk x2 wich i already own.

psu 750 80+ plat own as well.

But i wanted wait cuz im afraid of 2080 ti, witch had some problem and i7-9700 is fresh on the market want to see if that keeps it standard with no problem unlike i9-9900 with heating problems.

Yeah true, before its shows its own stable to run those 10 cores, might be higher as well. So long im good with 970 sli, i5 4th gen. sitting on old motherboard so i have to Principe buy new one but want to build it myself... love to build..

The 9700K doesn't run quite as hot as the 9900K. I would still go with the best cooler you can afford though, so a 360mm AIO or good air cooler like the BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 etc will mean you don't have to worry about swapping it out if you go with the 9900K. The BeQuiet Silent loop comes in 360mm as well.

That is why you get one with a good warranty. So if you get a Gigabyte one with a 4 year warranty and it breaks within that time period you are covered.

Yeah, that why i want to go with i7 instead of i9.

The differences between 240 and 360(be quiet) was like 1-2 Celsius so no, those 3 fans radiator AIO have convinced me yet that they are so "much" better than 2 fans radiator.

And wanted to try that orange look from aorus and those orange light on dark base 700... maybe to much, just wondering on witch cables color i should run for.

I would personally prefer the Alphacool Eisbaer LT 360mm for something like the 9900K, but it might not be available to you depending on where you are. If you are not going with the i9 though, then a 240mm would be ok. Sometimes there isn't much price difference between a 240mm or 280mm etc so I guess it depends on your Countries prices.

Around of ~120 + - 20€ so, Kraken x62 V2 or Hydro H100i PRO or Silent loop 240

cant really decide yet.

I would probably go with the Silent Loop out of those, and stick a couple of Silent Wings 3 fans on there if you want better fans than the stock ones. The pump itself should be nice and quiet.

ohh, i thought you ment the case. mb. Black orange, will that pass with some rgb effect inside the case? cant imaging it can. but its a taste thing i guess.

That case has some sort of RGB lighting built in doesn't it ? Think the front panel illuminates.

You could always go with RGB fans for the cooler and rear fan if you wanted a bit more RGB.
