Hello everyone!

I very recently bought and Asus Strix RTX2080 to replace my aging 980Ti.

Everything was fine for a couple of days until very recently like 3-4days ago the card started behaving very weirdly.

The problem is you do everything on ur pc normally play a game with ur friends on discord and suddenly the gpu turns its fans to eleven and the screens go dark (whats funny is that everything works just fine I don't even lose connection to discord and can still talk to my friends). I went back to Win10 1803, reset my mobo to defaults thinking maybe it was a cpu overclocking related (btw 4.5 at 1.16 and 4.7 can't run even at 1.266 go figure).

Now I'm writing here maybe you guys have an idea that doesn't involve me getting the GPU RMA'd and basically not having my overpriced lovely rtx on in one game gpu not in my PC for god knows how long and having my PC be a lovely RGB unicorn statue for the forseeable future.

Any ideas are welcome and I'll happily try them :)

BTW Specs are as follow

32GB GSkill TridentZ @2133

My guess would be the gpu saw that you were running 2133 mhz memory and just lost control. I know I would. But in all seriousness I would check temps and power. I know there were quite a few cards that had issues with improper power delivery and needed the 8 pins going into the card to be on separate cords rather than one single cord. I am just curious what other than temperatures would cause the fans to spin that high. Maybe the gpu basically shut off and ramped up the fans to try and cool it down because it reached unsafe temps?

(lol if it was EVGA, they'd give you a better model back, even if this one had no problems. I had a 1070 SC that I RMAd, turns out that it was the mobo, they gave me a refurb 1070 SC2 with full warranty, and only made me pay 1 way shipping. ❤️EVGA

The RAM normally is running at XMP 3000 turned it down to try maybe oc of anything made something unstable. Will try that dual cable solution because im pretty sure im using one cable for that to save space behind the mobo tray xD. The temps are definitely under control not even going over 70 degrees due to the size of that thing :D. This error also occurs sometimes even when loading to windows so its definitely broken somewhere...

Unfortunately getting an EVGA card in my country is rather hard and ridicoulously expensive even compared to the strix.(1000USD vs 1200USD I know these prices are ridicoulous) But not gonna lie I'd love some of that legendary RMA policy because personally back in the day I had a 9800GTX sent it for warranty and got a gtx270 back :D
