Please recomend upgrade from ROG G751J

Go to solution Solved by genexis_x,

Actually you don't have to spend so much, a 1060 laptop will do. Go for 1070 if you want

Hello everyone, last night my ROG G751J stopped charging and turning on, ive already had to repair several times for battery related issues, so its probably time to upgrade to a new Laptop. Only problem is I'm a software guy and not so much a hardware guy and comparing specs confuses me sometimes. Anyways what i want is better or equal graphics, processor, audio, and screen (though i realize touch screens seemed to have fallen out of favor with rog lineup). Battery life should be around the same if not better. I am not stuck on ROG its just what im familiar with. My budget is around $2-3k, but less is better if there isnt comprises in that things are better or equal to the ROG G751J. In addition to gaming(Mostly WoW) I also use it for my CS masters HW  (classes start in a week) and watching movies and shows.

EDIT:

My location is US. As I said before gaming as well as general use. 50-60% gaming(mostly WoW) 20-30% videos/web 10% programming and other general use.

I would like a min of 2-3 hours non-gaming battery life but flexible as I'm rarely away from an outlet.

I would like it to be under 13 lbs if possible.

My Rog G751J's specs are (Some specs can be found heren only differing by hardrive which mine is a Sata 6.0 Gb/s 1 TB 5400 RPM 2.5' HDD.

Here are a few other good options. I have the MSI GT75 Titan myself with the 8950HK and it is one of the best performing laptops that I've owned, it also has a superb SteelSeies per key RGB mechanical keyboard with an amazing 120hz screen. Add to that, MSI's laptops have some of the best cooling amongst laptops thanks to their Titan Boost Cooling technology

See the GT75 Titan various models here:  MSI GT75 Titan Models

Out of all the laptops that I've owned, MSI laptops were the only ones which never failed me and lasted me until I sold them not because something broke.

HIDevolution does a superb job when it comes to building these laptops and testing them properly to ensure they don't overheat and work 100% out of the box. They also give you lifetime tech support which is stellar.
