Weird gpu/ motherboard problem

Go to solution Solved by chunca,

Sorry it has taken so long. Turns out it is only i problem if i have only hdmi cables in. I have since change to display port and its working fine now. Thanks heaps for all the help guys

hey guys so i recently Built a new pc and for some reason if i boot it up with my monitors attached to Hdmi i receive a gpu error post. At this point it will continue to boot and runs fine in windows. How ever if i have a monitor attached to a dvi port it boots perfectly fine.
I have tried re seating the gpu and putting it in other slots to no avail

ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4GB
Intel Core i7 9700K Octa Core LGA 1151 4.90GHz Unlocked CPU Processor

Any help or ideas would be wonderfull

Did you make sure to plug the cord directly to the gpu? Just to make sure, I once did, and had my PC running on iGPU for a month ?

Hahahaha yeah i made sure

Everyone makes the error at least once in life. There's no shame, unless it's the 5th time.

As to the issues, firstly, thank you for including the specs. I automatically went to type questions because no one ever does, haha. I'd pull the dGPU out and test with the HDMI port on the iGPU. First step is to isolate the problem to the system.

I did see somewhere they suggested flashing the bios but im trying to do that as a last resort.

It's why isolating the issue is the first step. If it's as simple as a BIOS Flash, that's not that much trouble. But it could also introduce other issues if the first one isn't addressed.
