New Radeon or Nvidia 2080

Noob Builder

I am looking to upgrade my GPU and currently I have a GTX 970, I saw the Radeon VII release video conference and I was wondering what would be better overall considering I do not care for Ray-Tracing especially since when you turn it on you get your frames basically halved.

Wait for reviews. Dont be daft.

Alternativly , due to the pricing of the Radeon 7 and 2080 .....try get a 1080ti for $600 or less.

If you do not care for Ray-Tracing then do not bother with the RTX Line. They are priced high on a feature that isn't widely used in games and that halves FPS. There are rumours going around of an 1100 series of GPUs that are similar in spec to the RTX line but lacks the Ray-Tracing feature, they are also said to cost less than the 2000 series.

Agreed here, the 1080Ti is still an incredible card, and prices on them are dropping. If you need a new GPU now, then go for the 1080Ti

16 Gigs of VRAM is pretty hard for me to turn my nose up to.  I'll be picking up a Radeon VII after all the dust clears and reviews come out.  Also, it comes with like $180 worth of games.  And this time, actually all games that I want; so that's cool.
