if you are relatively active and have over 100 posts then you cant change avatars unless you never had one without making yourself into an unknown person that people will disregard at first glance because they have never seen you before.

I have a shit avatar on a forum i stopped being active on in 2007 and the few times, even in 2013, i have gone back since i am recognized by my avatar and sig not my name
