Hi all

Upgraded my GPU to an ASUS Strix 1070 - used DDU to remove everything and start from scratch and installed the driver from ASUS website etc.

Had this for a week with daily usage for long sessions. However a couple of times now (so very intermittent) my dual display will cut out (doesnt matter if in game or just browsing) and say "no signal" - sometimes the displays will freeze for a moment which gives me a chance to look at MSI afterburner on the other screen before it cuts out). The only fix is to force restart the computer and that sets everything right until it will eventually happen again.

The system is not overheating (as i said this happens whether in a game or simple internet browsing and MSI afterburner shows the GPU never going anywhere near 60 in temps). My PSU is 850W Corsair so I dont see power being an issue.

I have reseated the GPU but the problem happened again today.

As I said this is an intermittent and random issue but again I cannot see what the issue is.

Any suggestions?

Further details:

When the signal stops, the RGB on the card also looks like it freezes though I am unsure if related. I will need to check again to confirm if this is the case whenever it is freezing.

What I have done:

Replaced the card (this problem first occurred with the Gigabyte card so I got a replacement)

Re-seated the card

Uninstalled all drivers (using DDU) and then reinstalled from ASUS website first (it crashed a couple of days later so I installed most up to date NVidia drivers and still crashing)

Checked power cable is plugged in properly into graphics card

Change display settings to reduce monitors to 1080p 60hz instead of 1080p 144hz

Bought new Display adapter cables (as I thought those might be faulty)

Adjusted the fan curve of card so that it starts the fan earlier and never puts the settings to "fan stop"

Checked temps of card prior to failure (doesnt ever go over 55 degrees)

Moved the card down 1 PCI-e slot

Ran memory diagnostic tests

Ran Furmark and Heaven Benchmark (neither causes problems)
