I'm planning on upgrading to the next nVidia GPU's whenever they come out Feb-Jun and I was wondering how I could ensure 100% that I am able to get a card on release(prices aren't an issue, Im looking for straight performance as I am upgrading from a 560Ti). Do I need to preorder the GPU from a certain place? Line up at a local retailer on the release date? or try my luck checking back daily at whatever site might have them available?

Basically wait for it to get launched and buy it from the site.

If it gets sold out, more will be up in a day or two.

I doubt they'd go out of stock so quickly. just ordering on the day of release should guarantee you one of the first cards.

Pretty sure the 290x went out of stock on Newegg as soon as it was released.

Not sure about that, but there are other stores ;) Plus, most of the time you can pre order, so it depends how desperate you are for the card.
