I haven't been online in a while, but when I log into Newegg and see that they now carry Ducky keyboards, that seems like news to me. Hopefully I'm not just spreading news everyone knows, but this looks pretty recent to me, and pretty sweet to for Ducky lovers.

So' date=' what's the big hype about Ducky keyboards? I know they're mechanical keys. I haven't typed on a mechanical keyboard since grade school and old-school apple.[/quote']

Ducky makes some very, very nice mech KB's, though I think it's more correct to say that the hype now isn't simply for Ducky, it's more for mechanical KB's in general. I'd recently picked up on this , well, craze for wwant of a better word, and have dived headlong into the murky depths of the mechanical KB world. Now, I have three, each for my rigs, and I don't think I'd be going back to membrane KB ever. It's the feel, and satisfying sound a mech KB makes when I'm typing that draws me to it, I'm particularly fond of Cherry MX Red switch KB, and yes, all three of my mech KB are Cherry MX Red. This is my last of 3 mecch KB purchases, bought it a few days ago actually, it's a Ducky Shine 2 78 Version......7 LEDs, 8 mechanical switches.

Perhaps I'm getting old, but this bling bling appeals to me, and that the mech KB feels solid, well made and responsive make it all the better.

@GamerDude - This is completely off topic but where did you get that 'rigging' for lack of a better term that you are using with your speakers. I could use something like that. Sorry for the off topic post :D

I hope nobody minds going OT just this once, but in answer to your question, it's called the Creative Surround Station. You'd be hard pressed to find one though, it's been EOL (End Of Line) product for years already. I managed to snag this in a local tech forum Garage section for a pretty good price. You can try scouring eBay..........best of luck finding one if you're determined to get one. Now, back on topic......

its good to see more distribution of a precision product. although, a mass-distributorship

like newegg, can distribute to the masses quicker than others. I think if the ducky channel

can make more offerings than the small sample currently, they'd be able to pick-up a lot

of wanna ducky customers.

I do hope this Ducky channel thing works out, and like you'd said, it'd offer newegg customers a wider choice when it comes to KB choices. Certainly, Ducky is one of the better makers of mech KB, Filco being the other. Who knows, perhaps brands like KMAC may show up in the US.....not for the faint hearted, I was looking at a particular KMAC KB that cost 400USD, I darn near swooned, I kid you not!
