question about gaming headsets

just watching the new linus video and was wondering why do companies like audiotechnica release gaming headsets worse than there audiophile headsets why not just attach a mic onto there audiophile headsets and add a slight cost?

im in no way a audiophile so there may be a reason they don't do this but im unaware but this seems like a simple solution

Haven't watched the video, but didn't those have the same drivers as the ad-700somethings. So technically they should be very similar. But the ad-700somethinga were never highly regarded for music

As the AD 700x

And simply because they get more money.

In the US where they are already out they cost 425$ and the normal headphones (AD 700x) cost 145$

so 280$ more  for just a microphone and a new style .

So id just buy the AD 700x plus a mic.

Alright I admit... It's just aped opinions from audio subforum Please don't hit me

It's not worse. It looks like an AD700x and an ATH-700X with a mic attached too it. Considering they're more of a microphone company, It's a natural fit. I'm not sure why it took them so long to do this, but for $300, you can grab an AD700x for around $130, and a blue snowflake for around $40. Will sound exactly the same and mic quality will be about the same as well.
