High GPU And CPU Usage

HamburgerMan

So I recently noticed when playing games like Fortnite and Tom Clanys Rainbow Six Seige, my gpu and cpu usage get really high. On Fortnite they both range from 50-80% and on Rainbow Six they are at 98-100 constantly. Is this bad for my gpu and cpu? Also I cant stream Rainbow Six because I go below 30fps when I do.

If the gpu is at 100 percent usage, that's great.

However, if the cpu is at 100 percent usage and gpu is lower than 90 percent usage, that's a bottleneck and you'll need to upgrade the cpu

Damn....

CPU usage at 100% during gaming usually means your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU (your GPU is under performing.)  I can't really tell you more without know your CPU and GPU.

My Gpu is a GTX 1070 And my Cpu is an 17 7700K 4 cores

A bottleneck is when one component limits the speed of another component. In gaming(when cpu is too slow for the gpu), this usually happens when the cpu is being overloaded with a bunch of tasks(physics, anti-piracy drm, caluclations, etc) and then when the cpu is recieving draw calls and other things from the gpu too quickly, the cpu is at full load and cant keep up with the gpu. Thus performance is limited

Check your services and tasks in task manager and check for anything that is not a windows service or any name that you are not familiar with that is using a lot of CPU/GPU resources and maybe we will know what your problem may be

I Used a razer application to optimize the game and the cpu usage went down to 50% and gpu stayed at 100% is that fine?

that should be good, no bottleneck there

I'd say it's a decent combo imo. There's games where my gtx 970 is being bottlenecked by an i5 4690k(ac origins). Bottlenecks vary from game to game

Damn....

Everything else using more than 1% of my cpu was a windows program
