One pole with two stands or two separate poles with one stand each?

sas.controller

Hi y'all,

I have two 27" VESA compatible monitors and I'm planning to put them on a stand. So as the title says, what would be better?

I'm asking in terms of the practical side since I can't guess all the pros/cons of having either one of them. Answers like "I own single pole with two stands but I wish I had two separate because..." will help me a lot.

I don't care about the esthetics and the design of the stands so I don't mind seeing 2 poles attached to my desk.

So far for me the only good reason of choosing two separed is if I need to move one of the monitors away and I would need to put it back on its default stand.

Cheers!

if your mounting surface handles 40 pounds/20kg of weight being pressed on it, go for the single pole with two stands. If not, opt for 2. Simple as that.

2 poles would give you more flexibility and less stress on the mounting mechanism.

There is no right answer here. Choose what suits you best

I'm not looking for the right answer, I need more like recommendation based, from people who have one type but after a while decided to switch to another because of some reasons.

Total monitor weight is a good point to consider, I did not think of it, thanks for mentioning.

I prefer two separate poles because it's more stable that way - even if your desk is fine with 40 pounds on one mount. 40lbs on one clamp will be more wobbly than 20lbs each on 2 mounts that clamp to probably the same surface area each as the single mount would.
