If you're throwing the AMD GFX card into the system you have listed below your message, then you should be fine. You can play the waiting game forever and something newer/faster/stronger will always be "around the corner"

Only question is, how long as you willing to wait?

Just place your order, Nvidia's new GPU will blast your budget to pieces while AMD's new GPU doesnt even have rumours yet. AMD's busy on 3rd gen Ryzen atm so don't expect new GPUs from them at least in the first half of this year.

Why spend 300 on an RX 580 when you can get used or cheaper examples of 1070s for the same cost?

Maybe Freesync? And maybe those deals aren't available in his region? If they are he should go for a 1070 though. Great card.

He said under 300$ so I'm assuming he's American. 1070's retail for 299$ now and you can grab them for 250$ off of ebay. Hell you can get a fully loaded GTX 1060 for under 300$ and it'll surpass the RX 580. Doesn't Nvidia work best with modeling anyways because of CUDA?

Well i could've gone for a used 1070 but used gpus are quite hard to find where i live. So rx 580 became my choice since many people suggested me to buy rx 580 over 1060

How much 3d modeling will you be doing? If it's going to be a fair amount you ought to stick with Nvidia cards because of their proprietary CUDA technology.

Ah well then you're probably stuck with the RX 580 as your best option

Yeah it's close to 1060 performance.
