So my cousin got a EVGA 2080TI for the win crap.  After just 3 days of use it died Im sad to say.  He turns on his computer and nothing happens.  Luckily he had a spare 960 ,, he put it in the same slot that 2080 was on ,,,, turns on computer and baaam it starts up ,, and loads into windows.  WTF ?  Do we just RMA to EVGA , or return to seller ?

If EVGA will accept an RMA(they should, combination of new card and best customer support in the business), then do that.

Returning to the seller will be faster and you're probably still in the return period. However, did you test it in another system?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Are you fully sure that you had it installed correctly and with the necessary power connectors properly attached (preferably without any power cable type converters)? Otherwise, there is a large amount of possibly factors which could be causing the card to fail and there should be better options than RMA the item to the manufacturer if able to be returned to the seller. Would be quite costly for the professionals to repair this card although if nothing works then that would be the last resort option.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

I'd test the card in another machine with a known good 750+ watt PSU before I call the card bad.

The PSU could be going out, and could run a 960 fine, but not the 2080.

Worth testing before wasting the manufacturer's or supplier's time.

just return the card if you can, you already know the 960's working, not even worth the time putting in another system, that's what i'd do ONLY if you can't return it, RMA is also a no-no if you can return it.

Return to seller is the quickest way and better imho because all evga will do is ship you a refurbished 1.  paying 1300+ just to get a refurbished 1 is a no no in my book

EVGA would not replace it with a Refurbished card.  They would send him a new one in a sealed box.

Hey boss, thanks for your reply.  Actually he has not done a RMA process, I will see if I can see him very soon and check on that.  He is pretty savvy so Im sure its in the PCIe slot nicely. and proper power connected to it.  It worked for 3 days solid,, he was all excited then baaaaaam it died.  Thank you all

I will go with returning to seller instead of sending to EVGA.  Thanks again guys.

Sounds alot like what happened to mine tbh. Worked for a couple of days then it died. Tried multiple psus and systems and nothing worked. Returned it to microcenter and got a new one and that one worked flawlessly.
