What to choose

Hi 

Im getting to upgrade my old gaming / workstation(CAD workload )/ streaming PC 

in wondering what to choose for replacement 

X299 with 7820x

x399 with 1950x

or w8 for new ryzen 3 cpu and get something on ryzen 3700x/3800x

 

need help to choose which way to go

definetely never x299. 7820x is crap

I would recommend waiting for those 16 and 12 core ryzen matisse processors.

Plus x299 does not support ecc while ryzen does(that might be a huge deal for some people)

this should honestly never be a question of which to choose. Skylake X is rarely if ever the choice.

wait untill after CES is done (it starts tomorrow and continues for a few days). then come back for advice.(or just tag or pm me)

 

we are currently waiting for info on Ryzen 3000. we are expecting some sort of teaser/announchement at CES

i wached tech linked about ryzen 3 series and they are looking good on paper 

or go  in to mainstream intel platform with  i9 9900k or 7900k insted of x399 from amd ??

if you are choosing between X299 and Z390 then Z390 is better in most regards. 

 

if you are doing a lot of rendering then X399 is the way to go. if you want h best of all worlds, then you will have to wait untill CES where we will hopefully get details on Ryzen 3000. we will have to see if the rumours are remotely true
