I have decided to go with the Nikon D750 instead of the D7500 because of the full-frame sensor providing less noise and grain, 4 more megapixels (which isn't much), and speed.

I plan to shoot sports like basketball, football, soccer, baseball the basic sports. Im not super familiar with Nikkor lenses and the abbreviation but I am very familiar with the Nikon Cameras. I also want to shoot simple photography like up-close portraits, like weddings photos at some point I will put a nice speedlight on it.

I just want some feedback on if I will be able to shoot sports with clear and sharp images.

This is the link to the lens I plan to put on it: https://goo.gl/KK1d7B

Thanks in advanced for all the feedback you provide!

Thanks

- Aero

The d750 is the wrong choice for sports in this instance, by miles. I would also not use that lens either. The d7500's focusing system and burst rate are much more suited, but the best option would be a used d500 (much better AF system, very capable in low light, much faster burst and much deeper buffer).

And get a tamron SP 70-200mm f/2.8 G1 VC, which has a constant 2.8 aperture (much more useful in closed space sports like basketball) and is much more suited to this sort of shooting, making use of the crop sensor to get the extra reach.

With nikon what you should look out for sometimes is that the body has an in body AF motor, which means you can use all NIKKOR lenses ever made, while on the lower end bodies, (d3x00, d5x00) the lack of an AF motor means you are limited to newer AF-S and G (I think ) glass.

As far as portraiture is concerned, yes the d750 will be better at it, but the d500 or d7500 can do it just fine, while the d750 is significantly handicapped when it comes to shooting sports.

agreed however i will say that as far as sports photography gose its more about the settings in the camera. I recently shot an MMA event with a sony a 6300 and an EF mount converter on with cannon lenses so I had absolutely no auto focus. MMA was easy because the aria they move around in is small but any thing is possible if your willing to figure it out. I'm not too familiar with Nikon cameras my self

Don't Judge my spelling I'm dyslexic

Well sure you can manual focus, you can push a car as well, but its much more convenient, reliable and makes way more sense t sit in it and drive it...

This applies more to videograpy where you aren't capturing a single moment but the entire thing. In photography though, having reliable fast AF means you get more shots in focus when the action is fast paced and thus more keeper shots.
