Sleeper PC Build"Annett Computer"

Hey i found this older Pentium 4 2.8ghz in good condition  especially the case, prober steel case with loads of potential and a classic look and feel.
I am going to be modding it mostly inside the case, i will keep the exterior as is, but with all modern parts, Water cooling dust filters RGB. I have built a lot of Pc's in my time but can't recall comming across this pc or case before, "Annett Computer" ,. Can anyone tell me anything about the brand "Annett Computer" or maby this model? Sorry for bad English, and thank you for being part of the best place of the Whole Internet :)

Looks pretty smexy, I hope an M.2 is enough to get around the lack of proper drive trays.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I kinda want to see something done with the side panel fan mount. Maybe an extra rad for the cpu?

Found a website that may be them:

http://www.annett.co.nz/

Seems like a small computer company that does custom builds. By the look of the website, they’re quite old and may have gone out of business some time ago

Lots of cases from back when used to support those little stick on badges, there used to be a couple companies locally who would build systems and they always had some sort of sticker to put on them. My first case, a Antec Sonata had one on it.

Yeah mine was an OG Sonata, maybe a Sonata II. I really regret getting rid of it, it was made far too nicely for having given it away and the Antec 900 I replaced it with ended up becoming awful between having to remove the side fan plastic for a NH-D14, the top fan literally exploding and in retrospect, the entire front drive bay and fan setup which was awful.

To not derail talking about my old cases, you're going to need airflow and bad in this case if you want serious performance. I don't think that front panel provides any air flow. Those holes could probably be very very very carefully drilled out then touched up with high grit sandpaper to look original and the CD drives could probably be gutted for their face plates and mocked up for aesthetics. Then air drawn through around the cracks, maybe. Otherwise, you'd have to paint it black and add mesh which would be pointless as it's no longer beige.

That's still going to be pretty awful though, trying to find another beige box with a front which is far more supporting of airflow probably wouldn't be too hard. If you aren't too against exterior mods, maybe some sort of vents could be cut or inserted into the sides of the front plate. Loosely in concept sort of like the Sonata has lol.

Can someone explain sleeper PCs to me? Why would anyone want that exactly? They are objectively subjectively ugly looking.
Surely not as a thief deterrent, because any thief with half a brain would take 3 seconds to look at the rear IO, see it doesn't have any parallel or serial port on the motherboard as was standard back in the days, but somehow has USB 3.0 and other modern IO.

I'd rather just bolt a computer case to desk large enough that it cannot pass through a door frame without disassembly, to prevent anyone from stealing it quickly.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

objectively ugly

How's that possible? You can't measure ugliness.

Aside from the modern overuse of the term "objective," you really do have to understand that people have different tastes and that the irony of the crappy old case with super powerful guys is a fun idea. It's charming, kitchy, campy, what have you.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I am aware of the bad airflow im going to drill holes im front and buttom for radiator i am going for mild OC, the front of the case will be open at the buttom with Static pressure Fans the plastic in front has room behind it for desent airflow towards the GPU, from underneath and have had success with buttom mounted radiators before of cause with filter and cleaning of them often, there is also an option drilling a hole in the left panel for a single 120mm fan if needed, it allready has holes im the back for 120 aswell for exhaust, but the extreme Overclocking will be done on my other custom rigs, This one is for fun and to see what can be done :)

Nostalgia thats why i know a lot of peeps find them ugly that adds to the charm :) and when you build a lot of computers in new cases with "premium" aluminum and Tempered glass its nice to take a trip down memory Lane, the same reason i Play Half Life 1&2 and never touch the kids, Fortnight :) but loved your opinion good sir ?

Sleeper PCs are just fun to make. Anyone can take a modern case designed for modern parts and put them together. With a vintage case you must create a build around its imperfections. I did one myself and think it came out pretty well. A simple build, the dvd player was replaced with a sata beige one and the floppy bezel comes off to reveal front usb 3 panel.

I think the brand is a mom and pop computer store... probably ordered the stickers and put their "brand" on the computer. I remember mom and pop computer stores were still a thing even as recent as early 2000s in Europe.
