Really high quality. Can't go wrong.

Hi,

 i have the below rig

i5 8500, usually consumes 50w

strix Vega 64, usually consumes 250w

8GBx2 DDR4

2 SSDs, 1HDD

6 120MM RGB fans

PSU: Thermaltak smart se 730w

a friend of mine told me that my psu will burn other components, and will damage the GPU phases and GPU internal components due to poor power delivery to the GPU.

is that true? and do i need to change the PSU?

is seasenic 630w plus gold sufficient?

Somewhat true? That is a pretty poor power supply on a nice system. I would change out that power supply. What can happen when a power supply fails, it can very likely kill your other components too, or you know start a fire in a worse case scenario but not likely. That's why it's recommended to not cheap out on the PSU. If I were you, I would change the power supply. The seasonic you mentioned I'm not too sure on what model it's referring to. Where do you shop and do you have a price range? I could help you pick one out.

Its not totally wrong, so yeah its a possibility.

You probably mean 620W.

And no, that one is garbage as well and not even an upgrade. You can almost keep your Thermaltake smart SE...

As both lack protection, both are groupregulated, fancy "Wapanese Capacitors" don't mean shit.

pls get something decent...

For example: be quiet Straight Power 11, 550W (or 750W due to modular Panel), Bitfenix Whisper M, Cougar GX-F. Something like that.

And not old, group regulated garbage.

12 and 5V regulated togehter, when you load one, it influences the other.

Its not desirable, wich is why they are phased out by manufacturers.

Because its problematic with modern Hardware.

Yes, because the S12II up to 620W and M12II are ancient garbage and should have been replaced years ago.

Not only are they group regulated, they lack protection. And its not even one of the better group regulated units either.

In short: It competes with the buttom of the barrel cheapies like Cooler Master Master Watt, Xilence Performance C and other cheap stuff.

And they only live off of their brand recognition and "Japanese" Capacitors, wich many people get blinded by.

It must be better, because it has japanese capacitors!!111

Wich is obviously bullshit...

There ain't no 630W...

Besides that: They are OKIsh, though the fan is not the best and can be quite annoying, when it starts...
