Random shutdown - can't figure it out

Go to solution Solved by PopsicleHustler,

You're power limted. R9 290x draws over 300W, FX8350 can draw 100-150W.

As the title says I can't figure out the shutdown for the life of me. I'm thinking it's power supply related because of past experience.

Anyways here's my attempts at figuring it out.

The CPU stays at 85C max under load and the GPU sits at 75C max.

- FX-8350 and R9 280x

The problem started when I rebuilt the same PC besides the PSU for my mom.

I switched out my 850W for a brand new 600W. I figured 600W would be enough, but the system just seems to cut off under load and attempt to reboot, other times it'll just make me flip the switch in the back.

Just now it won't even boot anymore unless I leave it off for about 10 minutes, which leads me to believe it's heat related. I've fixed many PCs before but this one got me stumpted, and I have no extra PSU to try here.

So my question is, is 600W enough for this system or is it likely heat related? It could also be a DOA PSU...
