Try downloading and installing the chipset driver for Win 7 64-bit (if it will let you) to see if that helps you any.

I have to keep deleting the USB host controller and scanning for new hardware in Device Manager in order for my Case's usb ports to work. audio port works though. Sometimes when I start the pc again, the ports would stop receiving anything I have connected. How do I make sure that the usb ports keep working without having to delete its driver and rescan for it? This is my second case which has had this problem. I believe its a driver problem. I checked its properties and it always says that its working properly before and after uninstalling and reinstalling.

This leaves the issue to be the motherboard itself. As far as I can see the case doesn't have any controller that manages the ports independently. This means if the devices aren't being recognized there's an issue with the motherboard or motherboard drivers.

What motherboard are you using? Do you have any necessary drivers installed to handle the USB? Windows doesn't always find or have the best drivers.

MSI H55M-E33      .windows auto installs the usb host which works. after a random amount of times of my pc turning on, I suddenly cant use the ports until i delete and reinstall the same windows supplied usb host driver

That sounds like windows updates doing crap in the background that probably screws it up. Did you try downloading and installing the Chipset driver from MSI? The support page only goes up to Windows 7. What version of windows are you running?

It's possible a BIOS update may also help but we'll save that for later. If we don't have to we won't.
