Tablet abnormally buggy / slow

well, starting with removing. those scammy cleaners should get some stuff done

i would suggest activating developer settings and set all animations to off/0

So my brothers tablet (Samsung galaxy I think) has slowly been getting slower and slower, all he does it play minecraft with maps, but sometimes the textures look weird, by that I mean they won’t load properly and the grass (the green part on top of dirt) might end up on multiple sides, but also sometimes the touchscreen stops working in SOME places, as I said.. just some, but then by using the parts that work it makes the rest work again. No, no cracks.. it has not been thrown or dropped.. the worst it has been through is a simple 6 or so inch drop onto a pillow (a very soft one) that was on his mattress.. now also, running multiple virus scans (namely.. clean master and speed cleaner) showed no viruses.. the device IS rooted, but the problems were happening before that and I rooted it to make it better.. which it did, but it is still barely usable. There are 2 touch buttons and one physical button on the home row, which are, home, tabs, and back.. very often they need to be pressed multiple times in order to work , everything is laggy and even opening something (or even using something) like settings will make the device lag out, having more then 4 things open will crash it.. (1,5gb ram)

here is the model number and such

(ps, while in settings it does not scroll down for me to see model number)

model number: SM-T230NU

android version: 4.4.2

android security patch level: 2016-01-01

build number: KOT49H.T230NUUEU0APA1

yes, it is an old tablet and he is looking into buying one soon, but is there any way to make this faster and actually work more then half the time until he gets a new one?

tl/dr: it won’t work right, model number and such above.. but will get new one soon I just need a way to speed it up until then

But I use clean master on my phone and it has removed multiple viruses, and made my phone much smoother, plus I use the app manager a lot, but I will do it if you think that might be a bit of the problem

Hi again sorry for the double tag on ya.. I set

Window Animation Scale : 1x

Transition Animation Scale: 1x

Animator Duration Scale: 1x

all from 1x to “Animation is off”

i must admit it is it is not that pretty considering I am used to pressing it and the app drawer comes sliding up but now it pops up, same with apps, but there is a noticeable difference in app boot times and switching from one app to another

Edit: also the touchscreen feels quite a bit more responsive
