did i connect everything correctly?

i just finished my first build but i have not plugged it in yet, and i don't know if everything is wired correctly. in the pictures below i found these were the only two ways i could connect my cpu and my graphics card to my power supply. i think the extra cables sticking out are okay but they just look really sketchy. should i put electrical tape over them or should i leave them how they are? and if i plug this is right now is it going to damage anything? i know it probably a dumb question but its my first build and i'm just anxious that i'm going to break something

the the other 4 pins don't fit in. i tried turning the cable around and the same 4 pins don't fit in the power supply socket either

It might be tight, but it should still fit in.

the 4 ends on the cable are rounded but the socket has two rounded, and two square sockets. if i leave these 4 pins out is that bad?

The hexagon shaped pins will fit inside both square and hexagon holes. Again -it should fit.

The only cable on any ATX PSU that splits into 4+4 pins is the CPU power cable.
