Ethernet cabel

I wonder what is the diffrence between data and ethernet I have heard you Linus and other people do on example your gaming lan room a data jack what is it for I know what a ethernet jack do it gives internet to the computer I also want to build a gaming lan room do I need data jack I dont know what it is

Yea but is it any diffrence between data and ethernet jack or does both give internet I want to know beacause I going to build a lan for many people and wiring so if I dont need data jack I am not doing it less work

it's the exact same. internet is effectivly just a stream of data. just get a ragular, plain rj45 cat 5c/6/6c/7 cable
