OptiPlex9020 Case Cooling?Help!

I got a optiplex 9020 for Christmas to transform into a Gaming Pc. I have a radeon rx 580 as a Gpu and a i5 4590 Cpu. Ram is ddr3 1660 mhz. Now the cooling is just a dell cpu cooler with one really small exhaust fan in back. My dad says it will be fine but I'm not so sure because it cramp in there and well I don't know. Should I get a case with good airflow with fans and move the parts into there?

It depends on if the manufacturer used proprietary components within the build or not. I will be harder to transfer a Small Form Factor into a tower case than a tower form factor system being transferred into a tower form factor case. It is potential that the airflow will be very limited within the case and the cooler may not be the most optimal if you plan to change to higher tier hardware which will generate more heat and need more cooling to be maintained within reasonable temperatures during idle and during operation. Mentioning that you have a really small case fan, you will likely see overheated temps inside of the case which could be a problem and also, make sure that you have enough power supply headroom to add the new GPU and change the CPU which could cause an overload and potentially damage to the computer's components.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

Dell most often uses proprietary motherboard designs. You'll have a hard time with that probably.

Will likely have to heavily modify a case to make it work. You're better off trying to cram what you can into the dell case and/or modify it to fit stuff you want. (fans and stuff)

You can see how the temps are before deciding on whether or not to buy new parts.
