migrate hdd to ssd

hey so im planning on buying a kingston a400 240gb ssd, i currently have a HDD. how can i migrate my OS (windows 10) from the hdd to the ssd

 

also, will my motherboard (p7h55-m/usb3) be a bottleneck for the ssd?

I've used it multiple times and it works great.

One tip, since you're Hard Drive is likely larger than you're SSD, you should first defrag you're hard drive, then use Partition Manager to shrink the partition to a few gigs less than you're SSD (make sure you check the actual size of the SSD). Then after you've copied the partition you can use partition manager to extend the size to take up the full space available on the SSD.  The program says it can shrink a partition at the time it copies it, but I've had issue with that, so I recommend against it.

 

No, it won't be a bottleneck for the SSD.
