USB Thumb Drive Issues

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

If its write protected, its probably a dead usb. Just get a new one. This is probably unrelated to what you were doing.

A while back i wanted to make a windows install usb, and i didnt know how. I figured that if I just throw the boot files from windows on to the usb drive it would work. But now the usb drive has write protect. Ive tried every meathod off of youtube and google, but nothing works... If anyone has a good solution please let me know

USB drives are dirt cheap. Pick up any USB 2.0 drive that's 4-8GB for a couple dollars.

Windows USB sticks don't need anything beyond an 8GB drive.
