Running GPU without Fans

So my question Is can I run my GPU without its fan for the time being?

 

I have a GTX 1070 and I'm planning on installing a waterblock on it and removing the fans on it. Im not doing anything heavy and don't plan on to till I finish my loop. My GPU fan have always been on idle, unless I game. Just cause I want to pre install the waterblock to save myself some time before all my parts are here. Of course I won't be playing any games. My case is a thermaltake p3, So it's a open case. Also my room is never hot.

a waterblock can sink some heat but it will have a hard time disepating it without coolant running through it

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

a waterblock without liquid flow is going to be terrible, more like a heat trap

I just wanted to install the water block before hand till my last part get ship to me. I'm trying to save some time. My current loop has coolant running with my cpu. I don't want to take apart the whole thing twice after my last part get in. So from the sound of it it's a no no on this? Guess I'll have to wait.
