Fire HD 8/10 from US in EU

Azurek

Good Evening to all,

I am currently residing in Belgium and was wondering if I bought my friends Fire HD 8 (or 10) that he got from the US, whether it would work here or not. The issues being Voltage and Software.

I tried to read many forums but everyone is basically saying "it shouldn't" but not with assertiveness. Could someone give me a 99.99% answer?

Thank you!

If your friend got it from the US, hasn't he used it? And if so wouldn't that prove it works?

He's used it in the US where he lives, but he might have his dad bring it over to Belgium. Bringing it here, and then having it not work means he will be without a tablet for at least 7-8 months. So we would prefer to be certain.

I'd imagine they would use the same battery in the US and EU models. Your charger might also support 220-240V too. It usually says supported voltage on the plug.
