LG 23MP68VQ v.s HDMI

Ahhhhhhh I'm trying to connect my laptop to my new monitor and it won't work. Idk if it's the HDMI cable or y laptop. The cable is all the way in btw. Looking at your first picture, Windows can't actually see the other display - this could point to either bad cable or bad port. Have you got another cable to test with?

I do use the VGA that it came with monitor and it works.

Currently, so that I can use my new monitor. I'm using the VGA

But I want to use the HDMI so my money won't go to waste buying an HDMI cable.?

Have you only got one HDMI cable that you can test with?

I bought it cheap. From the Philippines btw. The shop is like "the tech shop for the masses"

Ah ok, unfortunately, without swapping the cable out, it'll be hard to troubleshoot whether it's the cable at fault...

Yep. I hooked my laptop to my TV everytime my mom is away so I can use the t.v as my second monitor ??

If you're using the same HDMI cable then i guess it won;t be that causing the issue... Do you have anything else that outputs over HDMI to test the monitor with?

I used my cousin's laptop and it has windows 8. When I duplicate it. It does but then it goes black all of the sudden.
