Need Cheap Soundproofing!

I need to soundproof my room because I'm loud when I game, I wake my family members up in the middle of the night and they get mad.

If you know a cheap way I could soundproof a wall tell me down below!

Wear headphones and don't yell at the top of your lungs. Best of all, it's free

Egg cartons. Just cover your walls (or part of your walls depending on your situation) with them. It doesn't really get cheaper then that.

 

Edit: Alternativly you could cover a room divider with egg cartons. It would probably be an easier solution then covering you walls with them. Just place the room divider behind you when you play games.

I don't think actual cardboard egg cartons work, do you mean the foam?

Nope, acctual egg cartons. When still lived in an apartment them used for sound dampening and to better the sound recording in the apartment. Does't do a great job, but they are cheap and they somewhat work. 

 

Edit: I might want to say that it only work with the cartons made of soft catron and not the hard carton. The hard carton will only act as a distorter

I put a layer of acoustic foam behind mine, and it improved them a bit more. Still not amazing but better than either component naked on their own
