So my GTX 550 TI I overclock it and guess what happens My FPS gets a lot worse then stock im so confused that this is happening can someone help plz

maybe throttling, so you need to cool down that GPU, or maybe you applied way too much voltage and it wasn't needed so the card just warms up for no reason.

because OC isn't bad if done correctly

Turn the fan(s) up. Turn up the power. And start adding to the core clock and testing in something like unigine valley benchmark.

If that isn’t being done then overclocking can be bad, for you.

lots of factors in play here, temps, other components, the game being played etc.

For the most part, your over clock won't give you outlandish increased performance in games.  You're not going to be able to crank anti aliasing up to max settings in a game just because you have an over clock.  Your FPS may go up, or it may go down depending on the game.  You just need to dial it in for that game.

For instance, on my Vega 56, I have a couple different overclock settings that I use, depending on the game.  Some games actually run smoother without the over clock.  There are just far too many factors to have a blanket answer to something like this.

Think about what happens when you over clock, you are pushing the limits of the piece of hardware, in most cases you are pushing the core clock speed to go faster.  When your GPU goes faster, what happens?  The GPU will need more power to increase the speed, causing the core to heat up.  Without proper cooling, this will cause thermal throttling that could decrease your GPU's performance.  SO, in some cases, over clocking is not ideal.
