Love the YouTube channel and trust you guys completely. which is why I would like to see if there was a way to make a video explaining how to setup your fan settings in the bios for optimal performance.

I have a new build with gigabyte h370n wifi rev. 1 motherboard with smart fan 5 settings. Clueless on this.

Thanks in advance.

Optimal fan performance is kinda relative depending on how much noise you're willing to accept.  Best performance is just setting them to 100 percent and calling it a day, but that will be quite loud.

Is there an issue you're trying to correct (temps and/or noise)?  Most motherboards have the stock bios fan curves set fairly reasonably.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!

The video about this is hard to make and frankly pointless. Main problem is that control setup is personal preference and how to do it varies between manufacturers and mobo generations.

But we can help you to start. What fans you have and where/how are they connected? Gigabyte has been notoriously bad in controls, but I think you are fine (I need to check mobo manual to make sure). Basics for control is that you can do it in two ways. By setting pre-made profile or by doing curves by hand. What curve is best is up to you.

I've limited my fan speeds for max 80% as they don't really provide more than noise after that point. The min point is set to place where fans just about spin (0% for CPU, 30% for case fans). Curve is something between linear and logarithmic. I prefer it because linear is usually too steep with lower temps when I don't actually need fans to spin that hard. So steeper curve closer to hotter temps and spin-limit is better.
