Excuse the noob question, but hey, I'm a noob in this PC gaming world.  Do some games have an FPS maximum?  While playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I'll see an average FPS of around 95 on the highest settings.  (dips a bit in crowded areas like towns)  But then in games like Nier: Automate and Final Fantasy XIII it just won't go above 60 FPS.

Is this a settings thing that I haven't discovered yet, or do some games just have an FPS cap on them?  I guess in the long run, it doesn't matter THAT much because the gaming experience is pretty good anyway, haha.

Build:

Vega 56 - OC to 1600MHz and 900MB RAM

Many due, and its there generally due to limitations with the graphical engine.

Probably FPS cap as said above. Many older games also don't get insane FPS because they weren't built for hardware as fast as we have now, so you often hit CPU bottlenecks with the GPU doing very little

Funny note, I had Halo CE running on my machine at 200+FPS. GPU was screaming with coil whine lol.
