HTML comments on IOS?

so on an HTML course you need to do a comment <!— (double huphens) but on ios it joins them together so it keeps saying it is wrong?? how can i do this? (btw this isnt my course my friend is taking it)

Your friend is doing a course on HTML on a phone? Well very much good luck to him. hahaha

it is sololearn, and it is ln an ipad.. but i finished the whole thing on my android phone

but i did fix it by typing “-“ and then moving the insertion point to the left of it and typing anothe one
